SONday - Table Manners

We teach our children the importance of table manners.....chew with your mouth closed.....eat all your dinner.....use your fork, but are we teaching or practicing table manners at God's Table?

What is God's Table? John 3:16 says, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." But do we "finish our dinner?" Most of us believe there is a God and maybe even that He sent his Son, Jesus, but do we "believe in Him so that we can have eternal life?" Jesus says in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me." Finish your meal, choose to believe in the One and Only Savior who has the power to seat us at God's Table!

Do we use our tools (forks)? Do we read and put into practice what we read from the Bible? That is our tool. The Bible says not just to be a hearer, but a doer. Choose to use your utensils and live a life that represents who you believe!

So, I pray, Lord, Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. (matthew 6:11-13)
And I pray that you who are reading this would taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! (psalm 34:8)
